Marni Hack
Don't have $479 to spend on one dress? Neither do I.

The other day I went to work in this outfit:

When I got home, I decided to do a little online shopping on Gilt.com, and this is what I saw:

See the similarity? I love Marni, but could never afford their clothes, so I was super excited to realize that I had inadvertently copied one of their outfits for a fraction of the price!

Here's the breakdown of the Marni outfit pictured above:
Dress: $497 on sale
Blouse: $292 on sale
Bag: $1710 (not on sale)
Total: $2,499

Here's the breakdown of my outfit:
Dress - Jones New York $43.37 from Bloomingdale's on sale.
Blouse - J.C. Penney $9
Bag - Bodhi Free from my sweetie for Christmas! (Buy in online on sale now for $107.40 from http://www.bodhibags.net/angelica-satchel-435.html)
Total: $52.37
Total if I had bought the bag myself: $159.77

In case you are no good at math like myself, that is 94% off - if I had bought the bag myself. Not bad! Have you ever found a fabulous and cheap alternative to expensive designer clothes? Leave me a comment and tell us all about it!

Day to Night
One Outfit - Endless Possibilities

I am in Maryland for the wedding of a good friend friend, so I thought I would show off the outfit I will be wearing at the wedding tomorrow, and show you how to take an outfit from daytime to evening. (I know, it's been done before, but it's a classic.) I love this because it's so easy - take off the blazer and change the bag and you're done! You could also change the jewelry, but I don't because what I'm wearing works just as well for both day and night wear.

The Sweet Smell of Success
How I Obtained My Favorite Perfume for Half the Price

Ever since a friend of mine who worked at the fragrance counter of a department store gave me a free sample bottle of BCBG Maxazria's perfume, I have been in love. It's light, floral, and lasts all day long. Not to mention the bottle has a giant pink flower on top! However, I just haven't been able to justify spending $55 on a bottle of perfume. I know, it's not as expensive as many high-end fragrances, but still it seemed like a luxury. I asked for it for several birthdays and Christmases, but to no avail. And every time I would see fragrances on sale I would check to see if they had it, all without success.

Until last Saturday.

I was perusing Marshall's and decided to check out their discounted fragrances. I had experienced so many failures finding this, the Holy Grail of discounted perfume, that I didn't really expect to see it. That's why when I did see it, I snatched it off the shelf and clutched it to my chest like someone was going to steal it from me. I got even more excited when I saw the price: $24.99. Yup, that's over half off. I wanted to scream and dance around the store. (Which I didn't of course, but I did do a little dance inside.) It just goes to show that sometimes patience and persistence pays off when you want to get a good deal.

Here are some not-so-great (Hey, I'm not Lamb, and I don't have her camera) photos of my score:

Isn't it pretty? I've been wearing it every day since I got it, and I plan to be wearing it for years to come. In fact, I may never buy another perfume ever again!

Happy Fall!

They're here! This weekend my good friend Lamb was gracious enough to do a photo shoot with me. We did lots of outfits to feature on the blog, which I will be posting every couple of days, so keep coming back to see all of the wonderful pictures she took. Who knows? Maybe you will get some outfit inspiration!

Fall has been here for a little while now, and I thought what better way to introduce the beautiful pictures Lamb took than to show you one of my favorite Fall outfits. I have had this sweater for a long time. It fits like a glove, it's cozy, and the colors are perfect for this time of year.

When you live in rainy Seattle, you have to stay dry somehow. I prefer to do it in style with my Dav rainboots. I get so many compliments on these. Best of all, they allow me to park in the middle of huge puddles and get in and out of my car without soaking my feet. Who says you can't have both form and function?

Things to Come
Proenza Schouler and a Photo Shoot!

Tomorrow I am doing a photo shoot with my friend Lamb, so expect some great outfit pics on the blog soon! In the meantime, check out the Proenza Schouler dress I just splurged on from yoox.com. I've been eyeing it for a while, so when Yoox had one left in my size at 85% off, I just couldn't say no!

I can't wait for it to get here! It's the perfect dress for Fall, and I can't wait to see the different ways that I can style it. I already have some ideas, so stay tuned!

Mon Ami
My Picks from Paris Fashion Week (Pt. 4)

Miu Miu:
By far my favorite designer collection from Paris Fashion Week (and all the fashion weeks...well let's face it, of all time) was Miu Miu. From the whimsical coats, feminine tights, to the great knee-high boots and adorable bags, My favorite pieces were, well, everything.
